It was on 1st March 2015 when I had a chance to visit several European countries with my sister, Renzy. The first country we stepped our feet on was Netherland. On that day, I went to the Schipol Airport from Istanbul Ataturk Airport, Turkey at 11 a.m (CET) by Turkish Airlines and Renzy departed the night before from Jakarta, Indonesia by KLM. We finally met at the airport at around 3 p.m. with the help of Mba Yance and her husband. Lot of thanks goes to Mba Yance and her husband! Without them, we wouldn’t get to the hotel easily since we brought super-big-and-heavy luggage.

We already booked the Avenue Hotel by Booking.com near the city center couple months before departure. As this was the first time ever we went to somewhere far and considering the safety of his lovely daughters, our dad only allowed us to stay in a hotel, not hostel! The room of the hotel we chose was clean, spacious (we got a room with 3 beds), and located on the first floor. The breakfast was incredibly tasty and various.

The first day in Amsterdam, we went sightseeing with Aysha, a friend of mine who is studying in Netherland. We visited free museums such as Cheese Museum (free tester woohoo!) and Stroopwafels (this was actually a Stroopwafels shop with a small museum in the upstairs), took photos in front of Rijkmuseum, Iamsterdam, Amsterdam bridges, and etc.

Amsterdam was peaceful, windy, and not crowded at that time. We took a walk until dawn then saying goodbye to Aysha. Before walking back to hotel, we had dinner in a nearby halal restaurant.
